Since it's not surgical and they don't have to sedate her, she will most likely have a pretty easy time of it, means they are not impacted or infected, which is what causes most of the pain. She's not going to feel anything while they're doing it as long as her mouth has been numbed appropriately. Whenever there is a tooth pulled, there is some pain, but the dentist will prepare her for this and give her pain medication to help until it starts healing. Most important thing is to do what dentist tells her to do: rinse mouth with salt water to promote healing, don't drink through straws (this will cause blood clots that are necessary to stop bleeding to become dislodged), and take antibiotics that are prescribed. It does not take very long to heal, maybe 2 weeks or so.

She will want to stick to soft foods for a while, not anything hard that could cause area where teeth were extracted to become irritated and cause healing to be delayed.Health Question & Answer

I have had one tooth out with local and the other three out under general anaesthetic.
With the local it didn't hurt per se... BUT it does feel weird, like someone is breaking something inside your head. I got a MASSIVE headache but nothing unbearable. When the local wears off it hurts like you've been hit with a frying pan, but ice and painkillers will take the edge off.
In the end it's better to have em pulled rather than wait until they get infected/impacted/etc.
What to eat.? Anything soft. I'm still recovering from having three out under general - I'm eating a lot of icecream, jelly, custard, mashed potato and drinking LOADS of water.Health Question & Answer

When I had my wisdom teeth out, I also just had my mouth numbed. It was the most painful experience of my life and I literally almost passed out. As soon as the teeth were out, it didn't hurt at all and I didn't even need my pain medication.Health Question & Answer

It all depends on the person. Mine was 100% painless, no bruising, no swelling, nothing. I went to the mall later that day. My sister on the other hand ended up going through tons of pain and even vomiting. Good luck.Health Question & Answer

it'll hurt, and she'll need to stick cotton wads in her mouth for the next couple of daysHealth Question & Answer
