Will protein shakes make me gain fat?!

Question: Will protein shakes make me gain fat.?
I lift weights, run, and swim alot...at least 3 to 4 times a week.
I SOMETIMES, not usually drink a vanilla protein shake with skim milk.

I am not sure if it matters but i am 17 years old, 5 foot 7, and weight about 128 pounds.

Will this make me gain fat.? or help my muscles after i lift or swim.?Health Question & Answer

hi Muse.
After weight training your body needs stuff to recover its muscles and energy. The best way to help it do that is to drink whey protein shakes after training.

After training you have "glucose window". This condition helps your body to absorbs carbohydrates better. This means that you can eat sweet foods after training and they wont turn into fats.

Another "glucose window" you have after sleep time.

About protein - only good words. Keep drinking it.

Good luck:)Health Question & Answer

If u eat and eat and don't work out, u gain excess calories that are stored in ur body as fat.

AS the person said earlier, Protien builds muscle. So if u get any weight increase, it's due to the mass of your muscles!

If u don't want to get fat, stay away from Fatty foods as they contain the most amount of energy. Health Question & Answer

Protein helps muscle development so you shouldn't be gaining fat. Honestly, you shouldn't be gaining weight period because generally speaking, it takes about a gram of protein per lb. of body weight to see any gains. Even then you would have gained muscle and not fat.Health Question & Answer

There is no way that will hurt you at that activity level. Health Question & Answer
