Question: Does bubble gum really stay in your stomach for 7 years.?
really what I'm asking is where did this rumor come from.? Did anyone elses parents tell them "if you swallow your gum, it will stay in your stomach for 7 years".?
Where did this idea come from.? Obviously, gum is difficult to digest, but I couldn't imagine it staying in you longer than 2 or 3 days.

Hmm! Interesting. When I was little I got told it stayed in there for 7 years and it gets stuck on your ribs or something. I'm quite sure it wouldn't stay in there for seven years as our digestive system can digest almost anything.Health Question & Answer
