Question: For building and muscles and stamina what is the optimal time before and after a workout to eat carbs/protien..?
Right now I eat carbs in the morning, workout in the afternoon, then eat protein after my workout. Is this the optimal way to do it.? (Carbs for energy for exercise, then protein afterwords for tissue/muscle repair)Health Question & Answer
Answers:
both carbs and protein before and after for building muscle, the protein will allow aminos to kickstart anabolism maybe 20g and 40-60grams carbs pre workout with the protein to supply glycogen for enery then double that post for protein and aminos to repair that broken down tissue and carbs to replenish glycogen stores which carbs also need to be present for muscle growth post workout recovery.
