Is drinking alcohol in moderation better than none at all?!
Question: Is drinking alcohol in moderation better than none at all.?
Answers:
Scientists have found that people who drink wine in moderation -- that is, not more than 2 servings per day -- have lower blood pressure and other benefits compared to teetotalers who drink none. I haven't seen any studies showing one beer or one shot of whiskey is helpful, but in small amounts they are not harmful, and certainly if they cause relaxation, they help. When a study showing the benefits of drinking moderate amounts of wine gets into the papers, the authors always say if you don't drink, there's no reason to start. I think they fear that people will start getting drunk and saying it's for their health! If you can drink honestly in moderation -- no more than one serving a day, go ahead. Health Question & Answer
According to studies, it will increase your life expectancy. In a gerontology class I took in college, the instructor administered a test to estimate life expectancy, with quite an extensive series of questions.
As for the question on alcoholic consumption, you were actually asked to add a certain number of points for being a moderate drinker, take points off for excessive drinking, and no points given for being a non-drinker. A lot of students went "huh.?!" Then he mentioned studies that supported the case. From what I remember, moderate drinkers tend to be less stressed and the moderate alcohol consumption aided in better circulation.
But for all you non-drinkers, calm down. Overall, the effect on life expectancy between moderate drinker and non-drinker wasn't all that pronounced. For excessive drinking though, there was a significant effect.Health Question & Answer

No, don't listen to that quote, "everything in moderation". Junk food is okay in moderation, but there is no reason to have it at all, it's not at all a necessity for humans.
Humans aren't meant to consume the processed foods laden with chemicals that are so popular now days, they are meant to consume non-processed foods that aren't altered chemically, and can be found in nature.
Edit: If it's not processed, then that is fine. Red wine is said to yield heart benefits when drank occasionally.Health Question & Answer
