How to Put On Weight?!

Question: How to Put On Weight.?
Hello there.
I am fourteen, about 173cm tall and weigh about 50kg.
I was to put on some weight, maybe gain some curves.
Most of my friends complain about how fat they are and they are all a very healthy weight, I am underweight.
So what is a healthy way to put on a little bit of weight.?
Or, because my body is still growing, do you think I should just do exactly what I do now, eat and exercise as I do now.?
Thankyou in advance.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Under weight treatment
1) The best way to add weight is to increase your intake of complex carbohydrates, particularly whole grain ones. Foods like whole wheat bread, muffins, pasta, crackers, and bagels are good to include. also, legumes and fruits would be wise choices.
2) In order to gain weight, you will have to eat more calories. You will need to include regular exercise and strength training into your lifestyle in order to prevent gaining too much weight as fat. And, as I mentioned, those extra calories should come mainly from additional carbohydrate.
3) To start, set up a realistic goal weight for yourself. You may need to resign yourself to a less than (what you may consider) an ideal weight. Make good nutrition your priority, and weight gain the second.
4) It is best to gain weight slowly and steadily. This will help to ensure that your weight gain is in the form of lean body mass and not excessive fat. Don't try to gain more than 1/2 pound a week.
Some more tips
5) Drink 6-8 glasses of distilled water a day.
6) Eat frequent but small meals.
7) Eat lots of raw fruits and vegetables (green leafy vegetables are great)
8) Do not drink coffee, alcohol, soda pop,...
9) Do not eat processed foods; white sugar, white flower,...
10) Avoid red meat and animal fats.
11) Reduce intake of dairy products.
12) Do not smoke and avoid second hand smoke.
13) Avoid hard drink too.
Health Question & Answer

Wow, this is such a great question compared to so many others I have seen.

The way I see it, if you are eating healthy and exercising about 30 min a day, you should be fine. My husband was the type where he was skin and bones growing up until after he turned 23! His brother is the same way! So eat healthy, dont over-do the exercising, and try not to worry. And if you feel really unsure about it, ask a doctor. Talk to your parents too. They'll all be able to help you out best. Health Question & Answer

This may sound silly, but I recently watched a show on the Nat'l Geographic Channel about sumo wrestlers.

To put on weight, they always sleep after eating. Of course, for most of us it isn't feasible to nap after every meal.

You might try drinking high-protein shakes at every meal.

Good luck. :)

Maybe you're just meant to be thin.? Enjoy! That said, have you tried adding a cup of ice cream before bed.? I had a friend who used to do that. also, you might consider protein shakes or a supplement like ensure. There's no harmful drugs or anything...it's that drink they sell in the supermarkets for extra nutrition. Good luck.Health Question & Answer

Go on a high protein diet. Increase your consumption of meat, fish, eggs and such things, but don't leave out fruit and veges. As long you're on a balanced diet, weight shouldn't be an issue.
Exercise is important so that you build up muscles, and not fat.

Hope it helps.Health Question & Answer
