wel basically the medual oblongata in ur brain realises that ur gut has loads of work to do, os it sends a lot of blood to your gut (energy) in order to help digest all of the food quicker. this basically diverts blood providing ur general muscles with energy and thus makes u feel tiredHealth Question & Answer

After we eat our glucose level goes up, and triggers the release of hormones which cause relaxation. Fatty foods also trigger sleep-inducing hormones. So, after a big meal, especially one that contains both fats and carbohydrates, we get sleepy. Some foods also contain compounds which make us sleepy. Turkey, for example, contains tryptophan, a compound which induces sleep. It's the reason we all want to go to sleep after Thanksgiving dinner.Health Question & Answer

Hi

You do seem a bit off, don't you.?

Do you know why you are so tired.? The answer might well surprise you.?

You possibly have a colon that is being overworked, so as it gets tired, you get tired.

When you eat, several of the body's organs are put to immediate work. They have to process the food that you ingest. Fine. So far, so good.

But if you eat the wrong kinds of food, or the wrong combination of foods, or eat them in the wrong order, you are giving your colon extra and unnecessary work. If it has been working all the time trying to process this food, then it gets tired and slows down. And when the colon slows down, that slows down the entire body.

Do you get it.?

It looks as if your colon is not working effectively or efficiently. This must be sorted out before other health problems start raising their heads.

What I am suggesting to you is that you probably need to get your colon cleansed to rid it of the loads of toxic waste that it has been carrying for ages.

Have a serious read at the site below, and follow the instructions - for your own good. Tiredness associated with an overworked colon and liver could be very serious. Check out this site now.

I hope this answer has been helpful to you.

High amounts of calories could put you to sleep, I think its called "A calorie induced coma"...

Its probably evolutionary, if you sleep after eating it causes your body to store it as fat easier because your not moving and your metabolism slows, and when humans were living in the wild we needed ever fat cell we could get...

So falling asleep after eating could be evolutionary...Health Question & Answer

maybe you have diabetes.? i am exactly the same and i have recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes... it's basically because your body is having a huge rush of sugars so you get a big burst of energy very quickly, and then basically you become tired because your body is 'coming down' from the sugar...

do you feel tired a lot.? do you use the toilet a lot more lately.? do you crave sweets.? do you feel like you have lost weight.? if you do i would say go to the docs and they will send you for a diabetes test.. its always easy enough to rule it out, it could be that you have slight anaemia at the moment maybe. good luck :) xHealth Question & Answer

ok, i hope that this helps you. try smaller meals, they say up to 8 small meals a day, making sure you start the day off with juice, cereal, fruit and toast, it depends on you. during the day include plenty of water and fresh fruit and for dinner choose smaller portions. if you still feel the same way after dinner, make an appointment to see your local medical physician. just for a check up. to see whats causing you to be tired after your dinner, he/she may run tests , hope that this information helps you, goodluck. ps you just may feel run down, again goodluckHealth Question & Answer

It takes alot of energy for your body to digest your food and that larthargic feeling you get after eating is your body focusing on converting your food into energy. Nothing is wrong with you dont worry. At the weekend i get up at 8.30am and have breakfast and then go to bed again and wake up an hour later. Thats how tired i get lol xxxHealth Question & Answer

It is quite normal to feel a little drowsy after a large meal. Your digestion system is working hard to digest all the food you just ate so blood is sent to these areas.

This causes less blood flow to the brain and so causes the feeling of needing to sleep and often a lack of concentration. Health Question & Answer

This is just a natural part of digestion. After you finish eating, blood and stuff leaves the brain to help digest. Since you have less blood in your head, you feel tired. Don't worry, there's nothing wrong with you, it happens to just about everyoneHealth Question & Answer

Nothing is wrong with you, it's normal. The body uses energy to digest food during that time and more blood goes to there rather than the brain.
Postprandial fatigue.Health Question & Answer

Nothing wrong with you. Blood directed to your stomach and away from brain and muscles to process the food. Don't be so greedy at filling your guts, and you won't feel so tired! Health Question & Answer
