What exactly causes fat to be burned off?!
Question: What exactly causes fat to be burned off.?
I was thinking that if fat can be burned away from a high body temperature achieved from exercise then could you also burn fat away from a high body temperature achieved by maybe turning the heater up high and going to bed with a bunch of clothes on.? (im not 100% sure fat is burned from a high body temp but if thats the case then why do they call it "burning" fat.?.?) thanks for your time! -loganHealth Question & Answer

Turning up the heat externally doesn't help. I know sauna does get you sweating, heart beating etc. but it isn't the "real thing".
In order to burn fat you have to do it the way your body has been rigged through millions of years of evolution: from the inside.
Exercise jacks up the body's engine; starts up the furnace, so to speak, in each and every cell.
Shortcuts don't work unfortunately. And if you want to burn fat (by exercising, of course) you have to watch for only one thing: sweat. This is your indicator that you've turned on the furnace. Once you've reached this point and stop, your body will continue burning fat for hours afterwards.Health Question & Answer

Quite simply, it is a matter of burning more calories a day than you take in (eat). So if you were to eat 1400 calories a day, and you burnt off 1500 calories, then you are 100 in deficit, and will in turn lose weight.
You won't lose weight by raising the temperature - only water, and you need to stay hydrated for effective weight loss.
Hope this helps! :)Health Question & Answer
