You have to think, when you wake up in the morning your body is pretty much starved since you have been at least 8 hours without food. So you have the results you want, eat a bowl of oatmeal and have a protein shake before you workout. The carbs will give you plenty of energy and the shake will give your muscles the fuel they need to GROW!Health Question & Answer

it would be wise to supply your body w/ a carbohydrate source
some studies support the idea that working out on an empty stomach promotes add'l fat burn but as you were saying; some studies also argue that muscle will be compromised.
in any case; when you dont give your body carbohydrates before strenuous exercise; it is forced to manufacture its own by converting fat into carbs; leaving a by-product of nitrogen which is toxic to your lymphatic system...Health Question & Answer

It's better to work out on an empty stomach because once you eat all the blood goes more towards your stomach to digest the food.. I workout rite when i get up for 1 hour then eat breakfast and make sure you add something with protein too......I drink some iced teaor a tall glass of water first or energy drink to get a caffene boost... then I lift weights and finally eat breakfast....cereal fruit, eggs, toast, etc.......@ time body building champ........good luckHealth Question & Answer
