I don't know if you noticed, but its easier to wake up when the sun is shining through the windows. Its much harder to wake up in a dark warm room. SO turn on the lights, turn on the tv, anything that will tell your mind its time to get going!Health Question & Answer

Forcing yourself to go to bed really, ridiculously early is part 1 of what helps me with it. It helps alot!
If you're like me, the number one reason you can't get up early is because you like to sleep. Sleep is great! So it shouldn't be too much of a problem to just start the wind-down process early and go to sleep early. Try to get at least 6 hours, preferably 8. Enjoy the hours of rest, but right before falling asleep tell yourself that *because* you're getting enough sleep, you will wake up refreshed.
You really can convince yourself of these things. I tried the whole "state of mind" crap myself after learning that you can command you brain to wake you up when you have a nightmare. = )Health Question & Answer

-go to sleep early. if you're already sleeping really late, you have to slowly adjust your sleep schedule by sleeping 10-15 minutes earlier each day.
-don't drink coffee/caffeine before bed. you'll stay up all night and crash around 3 AM
-buy one of those alarm clocks that you have to chase around the room to turn off. or put your alarm way across the room so you'll have to walk to get it.
-just wake up. force yourself to physically get out of bed. it might seem impossible while you're waking up, but once you get out of bed and splash some water on your face you'll feel a lot better and awake.Health Question & Answer

my opinion is that some people (like myself!) are just NOT morning people, period. (whereas I know many people who actually ENJOY waking up early, imagine that!)

honestly, it doesn't really get too much easier. my tips:
-get into a routine.
-get a good amount of sleep, but not too much. (sleeping too much can have almost the same effect on you as depriving yourself of sleep.) shoot for 8-10 hours of sleep (depending on your age).
-caffeine definitely helps - although limit how much you drink (for if you have too much, you'll be likely to crash later on in the day.)
-start a running/cardio routine in the mornings. at least for me, running in the morning (especially when it's cooler out), REALLY helps wake me up.
-invest in an alarm that you CAN'T press "snooze" on. (i have one, and it's awful - but it does it's purpose.) this way, you'll have to wake up. also, set your alarm far away from where you can reach it - that way, if you're intent on shutting it off/hitting snooze, you'll actually have to make the effort & get up and do it.
