Probably a VERY simple question about losing weight?!

Question: Probably a VERY simple question about losing weight.?
if in order to lose weight u have to burn MORE calories than you take in, & i eat about 1,500/day but when i run on the treadmill for 45 minutes it says i burn 500 calories... does that mean i have to run atleast 3 times as much.? (500 x 3=1500)

or can i still lose weight with what ive been doing.?Health Question & Answer

Running 45 minutes is just fine. Generally speaking, your body burns 2,000 calories a day just by doing the normal things your body needs to function like breathing or walking. So if you eat 1500 calories a day and are burning 500 in addition to the 2000 you automatically use up...that's 1000 calories you're getting rid of! Or think of this; there are 3500 calories per pound of fat...so you are on the right track to loosing weight. If you have ever noticed, the nutritional facts you find on the back of food packages are based off a 2000 calorie diet; now you know why :)Health Question & Answer

You are on the right track! But, you don't need to do that much cardio. Those machines are not accurate at all. You need to get a good heart rate monitor, this will give you the best readings. also, you burn calories all day long, so your workout is meant to help you burn off those extra ones you can't get with normal activities. also, if you do lift weights, the more muscles you will have (don't worry you wont get big!!!) and you will burn more fat and calories at rest. I am a personal trainer and all my clients say, "i don't want to get huge" I have been bodybuilding for 6 years, and I have put on 20 pounds of muscle, eating like a horse and working out like crazy. So don't worry about this.

You are on the right track! Keep it up! If you have more questions please check out my blog and post anything you would like i will help you as much as possible!

hi.

Physical activity will help you burn these calories, but there are so many other factors.

Calorie counter people do not succeed with there goals, because they just count and think if they burn more than they take this will help.

But it won't.

It is very important - calorie source.
When you train.
If you were eat before training or not and so on.

I suggest to people to stop counting, but make nutritional changes and training schedule.

Instinct is what you need.
