What do you think about body images in America today?!

Question: What do you think about body images in America today.?
It seems that in so many ways women at least are pressured to be thin, but then at the same time there's a "heavy is ok" phase going around through commercials and shows about loving being overweight. But they both seem like such twisted views--it's like with models there are way too skinny girls or plus-size girls and no in-betweens. So maybe it's the location where I'm at but when I look around I see women way too skinny or extremely overweight, both extremely unhealthy, and anyone in between is depressed about it all the time. But at the same time I know from personal experience that skinny women generally have a tainted view of themselves to begin with and in their minds there's always more fat they need to lose. What do you think.? Men how does this imaging affect you or doesn't it.? Any imput is appreciated...Health Question & Answer

I think it doesn't matter who you are, super skinny size zero or super plus size obese woman, everyone is thinking the same thing:

**I'm too fat.

I don't think men are to blame for this warped view of the ideal woman. I pretty much solely blame the media. But everyone has those demons in the closet that are the cause for their distress and over/under-eating. Boyfriends, lack of love, family problems, depression, media, stress.

Gee-wizz, the world sucks!Health Question & Answer

The image to be thin was created by men. So all the make up, dieting, spending $ on clothes, doing your hair, nails and waxing is ALL done to please men.

Feel better now women.? Get some self esteem and self worth. DO NOT let men dictate how you should feel about yourself because all of these little girls try to act like they are adults.

Time to be smart women and not give in to the lie! Health Question & Answer

I agree that America is either promoting being super thin or being overweight. The media is to blame for this! This is why American women have such low self-esteem and poor body images. We need to see women in the media at a healthy weight, not to the two extremes.Health Question & Answer

More designer are becoming more inclusive, and catering to plus size. Not to mention it is a good money maker. However skinny will never go out of style in America. Being healthy is best. Health Question & Answer

Each to their own. I'm really not worried about other peoples weight but mines and I look good. 124 5'4 and 17. Many people I guess think that they will look like a barbie doll but showing ribs and your whole back bone is not attractive. Or they have low self esteem from people talking about them or beating them down for a dream they want that person to look like. Such as when designers want models to be a certain thin. If a person really listens to that crap and has a weak mind that's on them. Each person is entitled to how they want to be if they let someone make a fool of them that's on them. As for me I'm going to keep eating my cheese burgers, my salads, my oreo milkshakes, BK tender crisp with cheese and bacon. Oh I'm a ballet dancer been since I was 7 I have a thin waist but big legs I drink plenty of milk I also eat healthy but some days I want my drive thru fast food. Health Question & Answer
