Ok.... i'd say about 1 hour 30 mins before you run, drink alot of water and then right before your run, drink like a small glass/cup. It's good to get hydrated with water... you body just "likes" water better for thirst. I usually stick to water, but during your run, drink some gatorade so that it will increase your activeness.

Good luck runnin...Health Question & Answer

You really shouldn't be drinking Gatorade before you run. The whole point of those sports drinks is that they replenish all the stuff your body just burned off during your workout. If you drink it before, there is nothing to replenish because you haven't lost anything yet.

There is certainly nothing wrong with a sports drink, its simply just made for after or during a workout.

If you want, try this instead; drink a bottle of water before you run and put down some gatorade about half way through your run or right afterHealth Question & Answer

my husband says for me how much gatorade i drink i need twice as much water. that stuff has so many cals in it and sugars and carbs. today we try to half every thing if we can do something to get of doing something doesnt taste good or feel right we will do it no matter if it is wrong or not right.Health Question & Answer

Actually contrary to what some guy said before me, gatorade is better to drink pre-run then water. Gatorade is only ment to be used before working out or exerting energy, then while you are working out or doing cardio, you drink water.Health Question & Answer

technically no but gatorade has alot of sugar in it so if you want more energy switch to something else that wont give you a huge crash at the end of your mileHealth Question & Answer

Water is better for you pre run, and chocolate milk post run. Don't believe me.? look it upHealth Question & Answer
