Fasting and work out?!
Question: Fasting and work out.?
Some of my friends have to fast tomorrow (religious reasons) and they don't really want to, so I promised that I would fast too, just to be supportive. Anyways, I was just wondering, would it still be safe to do my daily workout (walk 2 miles, jog 1 mile, 100 sit-ups).? Or should I cut down on that at all, or just not work out at all tomorrow.?
Thanks for the help :)Health Question & Answer

Perhaps skip the jog and the sit-ups. Although your body may be used to a daily work-out, it still needs energy that comes from the food you eat.
Don't forget to keep drinking water.
Although, I have to tell you that towards the end of the day after fasting, you feel really weak and you might regret having done any work out at all.

it would be best not to
1. it would make you want food more
2. you might end up eating
3. if you do the same exact thing every day your body will get used to it and it might not work as well
so its good to take a break for even a 3 or 4 days to get a rest.Health Question & Answer

You should be fine for one day, unless your fasting on water also. If you aren't drinking water, skip the workouts.

Honestly you probably will not want to. Fasting if you haven't done it before sucks.
If you do, I'd cut the workout atleast to half the work (3 miles is real big).Health Question & Answer
