Question: Snacks with high protein/very healthy for you..?
Hi, I'm going to be staring a workout regiment very soon and I was just curious if there are any snacks that anyone is aware of that is high in protein or good for you in general. If you are going to say protein bars/shakes, please be more specific

Meals are very easy. All you do is take a bigger serving of protein. There's no trick to this.

For snacks, you want to make sure you have a whey protein post-workout shake to get to your muscles (you have a 1 hour window after a workout to best feed your muscles, whey digests in about 30 minutes). Any is fine, but I personally prefer Ultimate Nutrition's Iso Sensation. It is all isolate, 30g per scoop, and tastes great.

Pure Protein is a brand that makes fabulous tasting protein bars (s'mores is the best flavor, imo) that also have reduced fats and sugars. Think Thin makes a delicious protein bar. You can find this brand at Wal-Mart of all places.

If you have time to make a snack, do so. Like meals, all you have to do is up the protein. If you're going to have a tuna sandwich, make it with whole grain bread, mustard instead of mayo, and double the tuna. Health Question & Answer
