Is it possible to be anorexic if you just wont eat?!

Question: Is it possible to be anorexic if you just wont eat.?
im wondering, can a person be diagnosed as anorexic if they dont engage in compulsive exercise and just refuse to eat.? i have been on a 500cal/day diet for about 2 months and i feel really overwhelmed with guilt that ive stopped exercising. i would usually go for a 30min run twice a week but im just so exhausted! i wont eat more than 600cal at the most i constantly try to push it down as low as possible. the lower mi cal intake is, the better(less pathetic)i feel. sometimes i feel desperate to lose weight and i put ankle weights on and run on the spot or put heaps of spice in mi vegetables to speed up mi metabolism-im really frustrated with miself and i feel pathetic that im not doing enough. it give me comfort however to no that if i overeat i can throw it up which i have done in the past. im starting to think that i am thinking 'disorderly' or i could be developing a mild eating disorder. what do you think.? i feel like im running miself into a trap. I suffered with both anorexia and bulimia all throughout my teenage years, and I can tell you that you are exhibiting symptoms of anorexia, most definitely. Now, people often will tell you that 'it's good you've picked it up'; they assume that now you know you have anorexia, you will be motivated to change. Not so. I knew I had anorexia for a long time, but I still refused to eat.

The one thing that really helped me recover, was actually one simple comment that I read in a book written on Native American Indian spirituality, of all things! It was just a simple comment on how the author believed that people suffering with eating disorders were, in reality. suffering from a major case of self hatred first and foremost.

I realised that this was so true! I was only able to recover completely from 7 years of abusing my body once I began to love myself enough to care about my health more than I cared about my weight, and I eventually realised that I DESERVED to be healthy.

Edit: One other thing that I wanted to tell you, once you have had anorexia it is quite usual for it to reoccur, but the most important part is to maintain your sense of self worth, and believe that you deserve to be healthy and happy! (because you do) :)Health Question & Answer

How about you eat what you want and enjoy life.?.?.?.? Although I guess I am weird like that too. Sometimes I eat like crazy and other times I refuse to eat. But I don't know maybe i'm just weird like that. But you might actually have a minor eating disorder. It's a misconception that food is fattening. But really it's not or at least it's not if you eat the right amount.Health Question & Answer

Sounds like you are anorexic. Your body is so weak and deprived of the proper food that you can not run anymore. If you ate more with more calories you will be able to run just like you used to and you will be getting the cardio-vascular exercise that is required by your body.Health Question & Answer

developing a mild eating disorder.? honey you have a serious eating disorder, and you need to get help for it, the reason you are exhausted is b/c you are only eating 500 callories a day!! that is not healty, you really need to get help and fast before it gets worseHealth Question & Answer

you do sound anorexicHealth Question & Answer

Well why don't you eat some more calories, but healthier calories.? Like in the morning for breakfast, some fruit salad or smoothie(blend fruit, yogurt, and ice). for lunch, whole wheat turkey sandwich, fruit, and a small snack(granola bar, graham crackers, stuff like that that doesnt have too many cals) and for dinner, some cooked food. try eating 1200 cals a day that's what im doing
if you rly cant get urself to eat more than 600 cals then i suggest getting help because that's rly unhealthy! but everyweek maybe try going up 200 calories until you get to 1200.? and then try to start exercising again!
hope i helped=]Health Question & Answer
