A fairly important question. contacts and not contacts...?!

Question: A fairly important question. contacts and not contacts....?
ok.
so my teacher (also an excersise expert...but I want more opinions) said to work out every other day
I can still run every day

but like do arms one day, then abs, then arms, then abs

like that.

or...is my plan of
running every day
and doing abs, arms, and legs every day (I don't do legs as much b/c they work a lot when I run)

so what is the best way to approach it.? she said that it wont 'work' (like my muscles won't get shaped/toned) if I do it every dayHealth Question & Answer

Teacher is wrong, sorry

any trainer will tell you, to work out all the above at least 3-4 times a week, , sometimes you cant due to weather, the running part.

but, if you set it up correctly, you can do all the above on your scheduled days to exercise..

like do your running every day, unless is stormy or snowing or so really cold you cannot...I run year round, each day....I don't miss a day, unless have to be out of town, then I still try to get up and run if I can.

the exercise parts, I do my stair master, treadmill, and Bo-flex on Mon. Wed, Fri and Saturdays....and I work all the above on each of these days, you can miss a day or two in the week....it wont hurt you..

but only doing certain parts on certain days, will not build you up, it needs to be all worked the same day....

ask any personal trainer or a gym, they will work it all on the days you exercise, they don't just pick and choose which part of your body to exercise,,,its all.Health Question & Answer

Just my personal opinion...

I was taught that muscles needed to 'repair' after being worked. You 'tear' muscles fibers when you work them out. The repairing process is what actually builds muscle. Granted...I was weight lifting. This may be why she said what she did about your muscles not toning.

My personal schedule was upper body one day, cardio next, lower body 3rd day, cardio 5th, upper again...and the process repeated itself.

I don't know about just toning muscles...like I said, mine was for weightlifting.Health Question & Answer
