Okay, I want to know if I...?!

Question: Okay, I want to know if I....?
I weigh 245 lbs. and I am 5'7...Which makes me obese. I want to lose 100 lbs. so I am at a healthy weight. I'm very active. I go walking and I exercise regularly but I eat HORRIBLY! It's like I have a food obsession. It started when I was really young so it's going to be hard to break that bad habit (rambling). Okay my question is...If I stick to a healthy diet, exercise regularly and start walking at least an hour a day...How much weight do you think I can lose in six months. Like 40 lbs.? Thanks in advance for answering my question!

P.S I want to be a vegetarian...I rarely eat meat so why not just cut out meat all together.

Answers:
On a rigorous healthy eating plan, combined with supplemental vitamins and protein , omegas etc.
Keeping with a steady exercise routine which combines 10 min warm up, 10-15 strength training and 20-45 minute cardio you can drop safely 30-40 lbs in 6 months.

However it depends on how well you keep your heart rate up and how determined you are. also your metabolic rate is another factor.

If you cut out meat make sure you are drinking some protein shake or something like that. I recommend if you are serious about getting into shape that you consider it becoming a lifestyle change and not just because you want to fit into a bikini.
Go to a fitness club and get an assessment by a personal trainer.
We have great success rates for people who stick to it.Health Question & Answer

The walking will be great as it will increase your metabolism and help you burn calories even after you stop exercising. With a healthy diet and at least 30 minutes of anaerobic activity per day I don't think it is unrealistic to lose 8-10 lbs per month. Obviously, at some point this will cease to produce any more results. You may have to increase your exercise load at some point.Health Question & Answer

A vegetarian or vegan diet is very healthy and very few vegetarians or vegans are overweight so losing 40 lbs in 6 months shouldn't be too hard.

Perhaps you might also want to post this question in the Vegetarian & Vegan section under Food & Drink as you want to be a vegetarian. Health Question & Answer

You'd reallt have to stick to something. Just lowering your caloric intake would help you lose probable over 40 lbs. in 6 months. Try only 1200 calories a day. My sister just did the slim in 6 diet and excersiced 30 mins a day she lost about 20 lbs. its a 6 wk. diet and it allows u to eat pretty decent meals. try that, and walk 30 mins a day and also jumping jacks are great for burning calories. good luckHealth Question & Answer

well figure that you should Only lose 2 or 3 lbs a week. That's the healthy way. And also don't try to do a lot at once and make it really hard. If you quit everything cold turkey chances are you'll be back to your old habits in a week. Good luck :)Health Question & Answer
