Do you really have to be on a good diet when you're at the Gym?!

Question: Do you really have to be on a good diet when you're at the Gym.?
I have a membership from my local club for a while, which includes members using the gym facility, restaurant, swimming pool and etc. I'm wondering do you have to go on a strict diet to build/lose weight when you're at the gym or just eat anything else while at the gym, because all I do is eat everything I want which is not watching what calories I eat, or meals per day (including junk food sometimes), and I never usually gain weight, I tend to burn celeries a lot, I have build muscles on me and gain strength when at the gym since I'm practically tall and athletic while growing up.

So my question is, what does going on a strict healthy diet difference to not going on a strict healthy diet.?

Since there are genetic factors involved, it is important to remeber that some people are able to metabolize faster than others (this is also the reason why you dont see anyone with a body of a body builder despite working out hard everyday). Of course its true that staying on a balanced diet helps in maintaing the shape of body that you want, however, it is important that you have variety in your diet including junk food. After excercising it is important to supply the body with the required calories while allowing the proteins to grow those muscles. However, dont think that strict diet is always necessary, it seems that you are already pretty healthy! Keep up the good work and keep fit.Health Question & Answer

A sensible diet. Fruits that are low in sugar. Vegetables. Grains. Multi-grain breads. Varied sources of protein.
You don't have to count every calorie. Just remember that if you want to loose weight you must burn more calories than you take in.
If you want to build muscle mass you need something to build it from (fat=fuel) and the best place to get those calories into your body is in the form of complex carbohydrates, not empty calories in sugar form.Health Question & Answer

Of cousre you do. its all about what you take in , and burn off.
think of it as a ratio, if you eat more calories then you burn off, you gain weight. and if you burn more than you take in, you lose weight. if you break even , you dont gain or lose. If you go on the treadmill for appr 30 mins and then go eat a big mac and go to sleep, your going to gain weight regardless of it you worked out or not.
but obviously if you work out on a regular basis, you dont have to watch what you eat as stringently as if you were very inactiveHealth Question & Answer

well people who normally don't have a high metabolism need to be on a healthy diet, it doesn't make sense to burn 400 calories and then go home and add it back on with a milkshake or burger because they got tired from the workout.
The only way to lose weight is to burn more than you consume on a daily value.Health Question & Answer

a good gym program and exercise regimen is accompanied by good diet or at the very least, a good eating habit.

no matter how good your output (exercise) is, largely depend on your input (food intake).

dont eat whats unecessary.
dont eat on impulse.
supress craving by food substitution .
avoid eating late in the evening.
rest well.
take it easy on yourself.Health Question & Answer

really depends on what you are aiming for.
are you training for a sports team.?
or are you just there to stay in shape.

If it's the latter than i dont really bother watching what i eat. and i'm naturally skinny anyways.

i ate breakfast lunch dinner buffets for 1 month straight before and didnt even gain 5 lbsHealth Question & Answer

Yes you need a healthy diet to work-out!

Working-out is only 1/3 of the process to get muscular/lose weight.

The rest is pure diet, and without protein, then working-out is completely useless and a waste of time.Health Question & Answer

eat as much as possible.
