How can i lift these weights?!


Question: How can i lift these weights.?
hi. im a 19 yr old lad and have jus got sum 6 lb/ 3kg dumbells recommended by this girl/woman on ere. she sed its affective but i cant lift them. lol. any ideas how to get my strength up.? i keep losing to my girlfriend and her mates, and my 13 year old little sister at armwrestling. can u help.?Health Question & Answer

Hey there,

I'm an exercise physiologist and I may be able to help you.

Start by lifting enough weight that makes you tired after about 8-10 repetitions. Do that twice each day for about 3 or 4 days per week. Then as you are able to go past 8-10 reps, step up your weight by 2.5 to 5 pounds at a time. Your arms will be much bigger before you know it if you follow that system.

You'll be knockin your sister's socks off really soon, kiddo!
