Is it healthy to eat alot of cereal?!

Question: Is it healthy to eat alot of cereal.?
I eat my meals normally, but now I'm supplementing them with cereal. I eat fish and chicken as sources of protein and have all my servings of fruits and veggies. I eat cereal after each meal (Honey Bunches of Oats) with whole milk (which I hear is healthier). I am 15 years old and want to be more developed and taller. Will this method help.?

Kinda but you must realize eating cereal will help you reach your full potential height. If your parents are short then most likely you will be short as well, height is determined by genes and eating healthy helps you reach your fullest potential height.

First off, whole milk is NOT healthier. It is loaded with calories and saturated fat that you do not need! You need to start making the switch to skim milk. Skim milk has the same amount of calcium and nutrients as whole milk without the calories and fat!!

Next, it is okay to supplement with cereal as long as you are eating healthy cereals. Honey Bunches of Oats is not very healthy. It is loaded with unnecessary ingredients and added sugar.

You want to stick with cereals that are all natural, full of fiber, and no added sugars. Kashi makes some great cereals!! My 2 favorites are Kashi Honey Sunshine and Kashi Cinnamon Harvest. They are very tasty and very healthy. Of course, remember that you need to be eating them with skim milk too-definitely not whole milk. I don't know who told you that whole milk was healthier-because it most definitely is not!!Health Question & Answer

Uhh, no...where exactly are you getting this information.? A 4th grade health class.? Too much cereal will just provide a lot of carbohydrates.

Carbohydrate intake on a diet should be 30%. A diet too high in carbohydrates is not good at all, unless you are looking to put on muscle mass, or if you are an athlete. Nothing enhances growth, it is predetermined by your genes.

Lack of proper nutrition and exercise are detrimental to growth (not weightlifting, like the popular myth suggests). Whole milk is only better if you want to gain weight, otherwise fat-free (skim) milk is best.

And Honey Bunches of Oats isn't a good choice. Other than oatmeal, other cereals are all processed, full of various chemicals and preservatives unnecessary to humans, nor healthy for the body.Health Question & Answer

It depends on the serving amount you consume. If you are eating 300 calories of cereal/milk and thats 3 times a day, thats 900 calories. When you do eat cereal, just limit your serving size so you do not intake your avg calorie countHealth Question & Answer

That is fine. Just stay away from the cereal that contains a lot of sugar. Stick to the ones that are high in fiber too.Health Question & Answer
