What machine do you think will burn LESS calories?!


Question: What machine do you think will burn LESS calories.?
I am in a Fitness For Life class at my university and I have to take this particular class because it is an institutional requirement. For an hour and a half on Tuesdays and Thursdays we have to spend 30 minutes on either a cross-trainer, stationary bike, or treadmill. I am 6'3" and 171 lbs and I don't want to lose any weight or burn calories. Which one of these machines should I do.?Health Question & Answer

Do low intensity walking on the treadmill. I'm assuming you are trying to put on muscle mass since you don't want to lose weight.?

You're correct in avoiding cardio for a bulking stage. Most forms of cardio eat away at muscle mass. Low intensity cardio, like walking, especially at a low intensity, will not affect your gains much at all. If they require you to do it at a higher rate, brisk walking won't be too bad for gains either.

You can also do High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) on the treadmill. That is a very high intensity cardio, but it completely preserves muscle mass, making it very popular for bodybuilders. You will have to increase your caloric intake even further though. Look up how to do HIIT here:
