Help, the science of losing weight is confusing me!?!

Question: Help, the science of losing weight is confusing me!.?
I am working out at least 5 days a week. I have a very inactive office job so i like to do a lot of cardio, i have now added weights into the mix for toning. I have lost weight but the one thing i havent addressed is my diet.

Whats a good diet for someone working out as often as i am.? I'm female 23 and have a BMI of 20, what would be a good diet for me to stick to.?

Thank you in advanced, i know there are hundreds of these kinds of questions, but i wanted a specific answer to mine, thank you :)Health Question & Answer

If you're also implementing weight exercises into your workout, then you may gain weight, but it will be healthy muscle mass. The question isn't about losing weight, it's about keeping your body fat % at a healthy level, which I believe is right on spot for you.
As far as dieting goes, if you workout as much as you say you do, burning calories should be no problem.
However, a diet rich in protein, whole-grain carbs, fruits, and vegetables will do you good in the long run. Try to skim down the fat in the protein if you can. Eating 6 smaller meals throughout the day may also increase your metabolism. Take your daily vitamins and consume essential fats such as omega-3s. I take flaxseed oil everyday, and it seems to be helping. I know everything sounds cliche, but as long as you keep a healthy nutritional diet, it will complement well with your workout. Best of luck!Health Question & Answer

A balanced diet is always a good place to start. Depends on what you eat like at the moment. We've all read the magazines, seen the lose weight shows on tv. Fruit n veges, Red meat for iron. Seafood for omega. Dairy for calcium. Cereal for dietary fibres.

Carbs before a work out for energy and stamina, instant carb pick up after a workout (simple muesli bar or bread sometimes something sweet) and protein after for muscle healing.

If you are inactive in your office role, perhaps use this time to put in the lite food (salad, yoghurt.?)
Since you are working out so often I would make sure of a healthy breakfast.

For starters you should slow down the exercise. Why are you killing yourself and wearing out your joints.? Stop dieting now!!!
All the dieting in the world won't help because it is too restrictive. Do you want to be able to eat the food you normally eat.? Do you want to slow down exercising and have a social life.? Do you think about food all the time when you diet.? Yes of course you do. Go to the website marilynsplanforweightloss.com.au and see for yourself. for a workable diet
here is what my dietician suggests . follow a practical diet. start your meal with a soup or a huge salad. this fills u up. Make sure your plate has this ratio - 50 per cent veg, 25 per cent carb.remember potatoes, corn and peas come in carbs category, 25 per cent protein.this will prevent cravings too.have a protein shake if you like too.an occassional treat is OK. have a snack every three hours. fruit ideally berries, or soy nuts. just 2 tbsp of soya subsides hunger pangs. switch from white rice and bread to brown. eat 900gms of veggies a day.Lose a kilo a week. that is permanent loss. pick an exercise regime you like.
get a pedometer and try to take 10,000 steps everyday. Health Question & Answer
