Please help..weight loss question. received no answers!!!?!

Question: Please help..weight loss question. received no answers!!!.?
I started Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred program 30 days ago. I eat 1200 calories a day. Today it has been one month. My starting weight was 142. Now I am 133. Total weight loss for one month was 9 pounds. I am happy with the results. BUT, I measured my inches in various areas 30 days ago and in one month, I have only lost 1/2 an inch in my thighs, 1/2 an inch in my stomach, and 1/4 an inch in my arms. Is this normal.? Where did the 9 pounds come from.? I'm wondering where that 9 pounds of fat was.? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks! :-)Health Question & Answer

I'd be a bit worried that you've been burning protein, not fat! On a 1,200 calorie diet consistently for 30 days - your body has been starving and your metabolism has probably been slowing down. You could still lose 9lbs, but 9lbs of lean muscle which you really wanted to keep! That would certainly explain why your inches have not really changed.

I always recommend a 1,500 calorie minimum and exercise to maintain that lean muscle.Health Question & Answer

You could have lost some water weight, which would be a reason why you aren't shredding inches. also, the abdomen and upper hips are the last places to burn fat, so you aren't going to see a huge improvement in just a month.

You should also only lose a pound or two at most a week. I would ditch these stupid easy ways to lose weight programs and focus on losing weight a healthy way.

Simply lift light weights, do a 30 minute cardio routine, and burn more calories then you take in.Health Question & Answer
