1,400 calories per day isn't enough for weight gain. The reason your weight is going up and down is just natural causes, it happens to everyone. Depending on how much water and salt you have in your body, your weight is never the same, it goes up and down by 2-4 pounds throughout the day. This is why you should only weigh yourself once per week, and keep a chart of the weights over the weeks to see if you are gaining, losing, or maintaining.Health Question & Answer

I know this will be difficult, and you probably already know this, but you should knock off the measuring. Measuring is good if you're trying to lose weight, but when you're trying to gain weight you should really just, well, eat. Carbs especially. Pasta, bread, cereal. Lots of it. Working out will also help (such as weight training) because muscle builds up weight, but its not bad weight, obviously.
So i'm not saying eat a tub of lard every day, but really dig into those energizing foods. Health Question & Answer

dont count your calories as much and just try eating without thinking about it. for what i see your diet looks really healthy to me.Health Question & Answer

1400 is the average woman's caloric needs for the day... that's not going to put on weight. Plus, with the accuracy your scale has, you will only see water weight and food in your body weight, this kind of small fluctuation of numbers is normal so don't pay attention to a difference of half a pound or a pound. Bump the food up to 1900 a day and you'll be gaining a seventh of a pound each day, so you'll gain a pound in one week. remember to exercise a LITTLE bit too so the weight you gain isn't just fat.

That's a pretty cool diet you've got there, by the way.Health Question & Answer

Oh my goodness! You're very very skinny. I weigh more than you and I'm younger. Eating disorders are very dangerous, and I'm glad you're off of it. Anyways, eat a lot of meat and things with a lot of protein. I don't know what happened where you dropped two pounds today. It may just be normal, you're not retaining as much water as you did when you weighed yourself the day before. My suggestion is just to eat MORE food overall. I don't think you eat enough. So good luck!Health Question & Answer
