Should i use protein shakes?!


Question: Should i use protein shakes.?
Im 15 and ive started working out alot more now, like going for long runs, occasionally going to the gym and doing weights at home.
Should i start using protein shakes, like will they give me a boost in fitness and energy while exercising.?
Can someone describe what they will do if i take them and if i should be taking them for the exercise i do.
also if you say yes i should take them can you please list good brands for my type of exercise because ive never taken them before.

Protein shakes are a very good supplement for people who do a lot of exercise. As you may well know, you need about 5-6 small meals a day for optimum fitness and progress. Protein shakes are great for that.

Have a shake about 45minutes before a workout, or 30 minutes afterward.

Don't let them replace real food though. Some ham slices, a poached egg, or a handful of nuts are just as good, if not a better, source of nutrition.
