If you don't want to spend alot of money, icy hot packs will ease the pain a little bit. also, I know it hurts, but you need to keep the muscles working, walk around and do some stretches, if you don't keep them stretching they will not feel better. The pain should subside in about 2-3 days. 5 at the most, depending on how hard you worked them.

If you don't mind spending a little money, go to a health & nutrition store, such as GNC. Buy protein powder mix and glutamine powder mix. Glutamine is specifically used to repair muscles. The reason your muscles are hurting is because protein and natural acids are being pulled out of your muscles while you work them, and your body has to rebuild the lost protein and natural acids that it lost. The protein shake and the glutamine will help to make the recovery process fast and easy. If you buy both of these products, make the protein shake and add the glutamine powder to the shake and chug away!

Alieve has a drug called naproxin sodium and is very good for muscle/tendon/ligament injuries.
Ice packs work wonders on fresh injuries (within 24 hrs)
- combining the two will have you feeling like you were never even hurt.

Either overuse of unused muscles or a circulatory problem. You do not say how long you have been walking, did you just start, if so then it`s the stretching of the muscle. If you are an older person, it could be the veins or arteries in your legs. More info would be helpful.Health Question & Answer
