Okay, knowing that you're metabolism goes up the more times you eat small meals, what is the least amount of time I should wait before going to my next small meal.? Is that, by the way, true.? Does it work.? What info can you give me on it.?Health Question & Answer

I found 2 articles. The first says to eat 6 meals a day but avoid eating late at night because your metabolism naturally slows down in the afternoon and evening. The 2nd article says to eat every 2 hours.

Eat every 3 hours (generally speaking). I have tried to find out if there was ever a metric assigned to the percentage increase in calories burned versus the typical 3 meals a day plan but with no avail. I do know that tests have been done with the Univ of Arizona and they found greater fat loss and less muscle loss doing it that way. The theory is to eat frequent smaller meals (grazing versus gorging) in order to feed your body a steady stream of nutrients and mitigate the effects of insulin spikes.Health Question & Answer
