Question: How long does it take to notice big changes in your body after starting exercise.?
I am overweight and have been going to a gym 5-6 days a week, doing cardio, weights and classes like pump as well as changed my eating habbits. I am very flabby and so far have lost 4 kilos but I want to know how long till I notice results looking in the mirror like being more toned etc.? Does it take years to tone your body if you have a high percent of body fat.? I am especially interested in how long for thighs and triceps to improve.Health Question & Answer

Hiya,
This is difficult to answer as everyone is different, and people burn fat and tone up in completely different ratios. Be careful not to overdo it, it can have an adverse effect on your body. For instance you should be fat burning at 60 -70% of your max. heart rate and not doing cardio - which is 85% of your max heart rate. Do weight training first then fat burn for 45 mins. It takes 30 mins for your body to start burning fat. Keep at it, you are doing really well!!! Good luck

no not years. weeks for first visual results if you are doing it right. Remember getting toned at first is only 20% about weights, the rest is losing weight by changing diet. toning does not work while there is a still a lot of eating fat.

There are three settings for workouts.

With strict dieting you will notice big differences in 4-6 weeks

With general changes to your eating habits 8-10 weeks

Without any changes to your eating, or sporadic efforts -never.

though you may fluctuate losing a few kilos here and there.

And you still develope a lot of strength under fat which is why super heavyweight weight lifters are huge fat STRONG guys.
