If you miss a workout, do you get really irritable? Can exercise be a "drug"?!

Question: If you miss a workout, do you get really irritable.? Can exercise be a "drug".?
I've exercised almost every day this year, but notice when I miss one, I get extremely irritable. Tonight, after a hard day of work and missing the gym, I felt really edgy and had to go out and literally run off steam.

Can exercise be a drug where one is out of whack if he/she doesn't get a "fix".?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
I know that if I am under a lot of stress or depressed, missing a workout can make me feel even worse - especially the stress. Yes, I think exercise can be like a drug, but a good drug. Did you feel a little better after your run.? For me, I can miss an occasional day and not feel out of whack, but, like you, there's some days when I just need my "fix".

Hey!
Excersisng can become an actual "addiction" I guess you could call it. When you are so used to something, it is hard to get out of that habit. That is obviously an escape for you! It helps you to relax. You can become a little edgy because your stress is building up. Excersising is your outlet.Health Question & Answer

Good for you now you need one new friend who is like you . The stress is turning into depression as you have false expectations.Health Question & Answer
