when weight lifting, how many reps should i make in a set and how many set should i do.? i want to have a body with visible cuts but not too big muscles..thanks a lot!!:DHealth Question & Answer

I just talked to my trainer about this. His advice is, start with 8 reps of 3 sets at a comfortable weight. Advance to 12 reps, 3 sets. When that is easy for you add weight. Again go back to 8 reps. Increase reps and weights and so on. He also said if you want more definition without adding too much bulk you can use a lighter weight and do more reps, 15 to 20, keeping with the 3 sets.
