Essentially, you need to decrease your kcal (calorie) intake by 500kcal a day to lose 1lb of weight a week,
So, if you restrict them for two weeks to about 1500kcal a day that's your first 2lb gone. But many people want more than 1lb a week. So increase your exercise to get the next 500kcal lost per day and that's now 2lb a week.
To further increase this you want to up your exercise. Toning your muscles has two benefits, not only will the tone look good under your skin - but the extra tone burns more kcal at rest as well! More tone increases your metabolism.
So, if you're serious about this , I reckon you should spend 3 days (not two in a row) per week running, speed walking, swimming or cycling. Then also have 3 days of weight resistance training. Lifting a water bottle 25 times with your arms. Doing 30 deep squats with your legs. And crunches for your stomach, gradually build up these. You can start with 30 each time, but as your muscles get stronger you'll be able to do 50...75...100 etc!
Hope this helps. :)
Health Question & Answer

Change what you eat!

The worst culprit is sugar - not only does your body store excess energy (fat), but it completely wacks your body chemistry, making almost impossible to lose weight.

If you reduced sugar and carbs by 75%, your excess weight would be gone within 6 months...

You don't have to completely ban them, just not as often, like once or twice a month. Health Question & Answer

How tall are you.?
It might be muscle weight too.
I weigh about 155-160 lbs and I wear a size 8, I am 5'6. I want to lose about 10 maybe 15 lbs, but nothing more, it would be too thin for my frame.
I have also lost weight before, and kept it off.
What you need to do, is set realistic goals, and change your lifestyle habits if you want long term sucsess. The tummy weight will probly be the last to come off if that's where you store it. For me it's in the thighs-- Dont drop a huge amount fast, you will get crazy stretch marks and might have lose flabby skin- Do it the right way :)
Drink alot of water, at least the recommended 8 glasses a day.
Start weight lifting- This is what will change the shape of your body, and will carrey you into a healthy old age!
Muscle mass is metabolically actice, so it requires and burns calories just having it on your frame.
Try and lift at least 3x a week, and challenge yourself. I usually do squats, dumbell flys, crunhes, sit-ups, leg press, push-ups--
make sure you stretch after your workouts, it's very important.
Cardio is great too. Running on the treadmil for 30-40 mins a few times a week will be good for you.
You can work up to it if you cant now, interval training is great-- (walk at a brisk pace, jog, sprint, walk, run, sprint, walk) that will really get your heart pumping. Running isn't my favorite cardio exercise, but my job requires it- there are other things you can do, like the eliptical machine, or biking.
Get a playlist you can rock out too and that will keep you motivated during your workout.
also--
You have to maintain a healthy diet, or else you will not lose wieght nor keep it off.
Eat breakfast, oatmeal, eggs, cereal, lowfat milk...
and throughout the day maybe another 5 small meals.
Turkey, wheat bread, low fat yogurt, cottage chesse, vegtables, fruit
read the labels and be mindful of your calorie intake.
I would say.. 1500-1800 a day depending on your activity level.
Good luck on your jouney to good health!

Treadmill is alright... the main thing is your diet. in order to lose weight you must have a very strict diet. no caffeine because it helps to provide energy which otherwise metabolism would have to produce. no sugar, no salt, no red meat, no soda. eat a lot of vegetable(excluding potato) carrots, broccoli, celery. eat a couple fruits a day(this will help with the sugar cravings) eat boiled chicken or fish. drink lots of water. and exercise. the very basic diet plan is to burn more calories than you eat. also jump rope is a very high calorie burnerHealth Question & Answer

So what should you do.?

Quite simply you need to follow a strict elimination diet to find out if food intolerance is causing your fat stomach and then identify the culprit. So how do you go about doing this.? Try these three steps:

* Select a few basic bland foods, preferably protein based for example - chicken and fish, plus plain pasta without additional sauces and simple cereals such as cornflakes.

* Eat only these foods for at least 3 days and keep a food diary, noting any reaction to anything you consume.

* When your bloating has subsided only then should you begin reintroducing regular foods back into the diet one at a time.

By carefully following an elimination diet in this way you will learn to recognise the foods that cause you the most trouble and aggravate your bloating.

Crunches, if done right, are a tried and true way to a leaner stomach, but I hate that kind of stuff.....My friend (who also has a chubby tum) and I just started taking bellydancing lessons. Not only are all of your movements controlled by your abs, but it's a great way to exercise while having fun and feeling sexy! Look on youtube for videos or at a local dancing school for lessons!

And please don't forget that no matter how hard we try and try and try, we will all always have places that are stubborn. My inner thighs are and always will be jello - so I am just careful not to wear booty shorts! Health Question & Answer

Cardio workouts will burn fat over your entire body, but you need to build muscle in your abdominals as well. What works for me are three sets of ab workouts we do in yoga class. There's a basic crunch, a bicycle crunch, and boat pose (if you google yoga abs you should be able to find these easily enough). They gave me great definition.Health Question & Answer

Health Question & Answer

One thing to do to help is to raise your metabolism through your diet.

http://www.squidoo.com/howtoraisemetabol...

The rest would be regular exercise. If you have a pool available to you swimming is good exercise that will work your entire body and not just a particular group of muscles. It is also no impact, unlike running, and good cardio.

Power yoga..http://www.poweryoga.com/... is also a good way to get exercise.

If you decide a new workout routine, just remember to start out easy on yourself. If you jump right in and make yourself super sore right from the get go, you are less likely to continue doing it. We tend not to like doing things that are unpleasant.

Good luck. Health Question & Answer

If you want to lose weight, look at the big picture of being healthy. Focus on cutting out all fatty, fried and fast foods. No sodas either
