Whole grain baguette/french bread baguette?!

Question: Whole grain baguette/french bread baguette.?
i was looking at the nutritional information for a whole grain baguette and a french bread baguette at panera bread. i always thought whole grain was healthier, but according to what i saw, the whole grain one has 140 calories (10 from fat) and the french bread only has 130 and 4 from fat. does this mean the french baguette is healthier.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
No, because the whole grain is nutritious, while the white bread it empty calories - the white bread breaks down into sugar in your body.Health Question & Answer

The whole grain one was meant to have more whole grain, made of whole grain, not reduced calories. There is only a slight difference in calories between the two so I would say the the whole grain one is healthier because it has more nutritional value (more of what you really need, and only a little bit more than what you don't need)Health Question & Answer

Fat doesnt always determine whether something is healthy... for example... soda is fat free, but not very healthy, where as nuts have fat, but are a healthy food..... Its all about balance. The whole grain may be more fattening, but you're getting more fiber, etc.... so depending on what you eat the rest of the day (more fat or more fiber), either one could be healthier for your diet.Health Question & Answer

Did you look at the fiber.? It's probably much higher than the french baguette.Health Question & Answer
