Why am i not losing weight!!!?!


Question: Why am i not losing weight!!!.?

So for the past week i've been eating around 1500-2000 calories a day, and exercising 2 hours a day and burning off 1000 calories. (I have to go 2 hours a day to catch up on out of school PE since the semester will be over soon)..so why am i not losing weight.? i havent even lost inches.... thanks. :)Health Question & Answer

Hi, Betty, If weight loss is your goal, I'd cut my calories a little more, maybe 1300-1500. In addition, I'd start keeping a weight loss journal or food log. That's not only motivating, but it's an easy way to analyze your diet and see if you're being as good as you think you are, and if you're eating the right healthy foods to provide you with all the nutrients that you need. The healthier your food intake, the more successful you'll be at losing weight. You can print a free food log here:

If I'm reading your question correctly, you've only been doing this for one week, so you may just be expecting too much too soon. Your caloric intake is healthy but doesn't promote "fast" weight loss. If you don't want to cut your caloric intake, just be patient and the weight will eventually fall off.

I encourage you not to weigh more than once a week when weight loss is your goal. Every day if fine for maintenance, but your body has too many natural fluid fluctuations to weigh every day. It's just demoralizing and you have no control.
