How does one get abs and pecs without much effort?!

Question: How does one get abs and pecs without much effort.?
Aside from taking steroids, because I like my balls bigger than pees.

I eat a lot healthier than virtually everyone else my age (about 16) I know and do a fair amount of jogging and bike riding but I never really worked out how exactly you work out to get abs and pecs. How do you.? Weights.? Sit ups.? Push ups.?

I don't want to be bulging with muscles in places most people don't even have places... just healthy and fit looking. Health Question & Answer

Getting abs and pecs to develop more fully without much effort is going to take good genetic luck. If you didn't get so lucky in that area I would remember that the body functions like a closed system, meaning that muscles are interconnected and each effects the others. When exercisers focus too much on certain body parts (called pet body parts in bodybuilding slang) they often end up with painful muscle imbalances where some muscles get so strong others must get weak to accomodate the overuse. Being able to bench press well enough to get into heavier weights would require a very strong upper back, and pecs relate and attach to shoulders and arms, just like glutes attach to lower back, hamstrings, calves...eventually you have to work your whole body to develop any areas. To get a nice body you have to first of all train your whole self in a balanced way. Build strength, flexibility, endurance with balanced exercise plans enhanced by correct nutritional choices. Visable abs usually require eating clean; meaning staying away from trans fats, corn syurps, artificial colors, flavors and known junk food because none of that stuff digests particularly well. Beyond that consider that there are alot of images of young males and females in advertising that are airbrushed, stretched, manipulated and it is important that you don't let your mind get manipulated into thinking every person out there can look like a model. Models have to work very hard at their figures, and many lead unhealthy lifestyles that are imbalanced in their quest to look like an advertisement...only to have their pictures reworked in a photo shop to make them look amazing. Genetics do play a role in how your body trains, looks and what it is capable of. I started training at about age 16 comming from a family of fat people who also had alot of arthritis. Eventually I became a professional athlete, made a decent living and today in my late 40's and female my body and face have benefited greatly from years of balanced training (but alot of training). Learning about training and staying away from fads while putting in the daily work for an hour or so most days has left me looking many years younger, with a great body, stronger and more fit than most men and women. I never took steroids- Did not diet too much because I didn't overindulge in junk food in the first place, and believe dieting can lower your energy and make your face look haggard later in life. Getting a body you respect takes patience, effort and time as well as acceptance of it's limits and willingness to train in accordance with your basic build. For example, if you were naturally hugely muscled and boned you'd probably make a better rower, powerlifter or football player than say a hurdler, pole vaulter or middle distance runner. Swimming is great for getting good abs, also pilates, yoga, a healthy diet, running/jogging, weight lifting, crunches, sit ups, push ups, skipping, boxing, playing sports, and trampolining (going on a trampoline) these are all good and fun exercises for getting good abs and biceps they really work too Health Question & Answer

your off to a good start

for the pecs either do the guillotine bench press, so insted of doing it over your chest bring it back to over you're neck or if you dont have a home gym find a bench around you're house that is a bit lower than hip height and do push ups on that

for the abs do to ab cycle, lie on the ground on your back and cycle in the air with your legs, and with your hands behind your head, you will look stupid but it works, Health Question & Answer

I would recommend Pilates for abs. I think bench pressing is good for your pecs.Health Question & Answer
