I agree 100% with Leslie. Berries in general are extremely healthy for you to eat. They contain things like Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids that are great for heart health (Think fish oil). They also contain anthocyanins like red wine does that helps with circulation and inflammation.

Don't be fooled though, berries aren't cheap and they're also not as easy to use as a supplement would be. If you like fruit, then by all means buy expensive berries at the store and eat as many as you can.

However, if you'd rather just reap the benefits of the berries you could definitely try a supplement. A supplement insures that you get your "daily dose" every day and never run out, or have your berries rot or whatever may happen.

I've been using acai berry products for a couple of months now and I've noticed that yes they do work. I used them when I wanted to trim off about 15lbs.

It is just a good berry. It has lots of antioxidants and of course fiber. So do blueberries and goji berries. That is the nature of berries, they are among the healthiest fruits around.
What has happened is some marketers got hold of some minor research on a berry that is not readily available at your local store, unless you live on the Himalayas, I guess. They push the berries and sell them dried or as juice at a huge markup. Eventually people realize it si a ripoff. After a awhile you can star finding the berries in your local market. I now buy goji an acai, dried, at my neighborhood supermarket.
