Question: How Can I Beet My Caffeine Addiction.?
I drink about 3-4 cups of coffee a day and I'm 14, other than my caffeine intake, I have a healthy balanced diet and get loads of exercise. People think I'm weird cause I drink coffee at my age, but after all, it does sometimes make me feel about seventy! Any tips.?Health Question & Answer

I used to drink 12 cups a day and it took me 4 years to quit.
You need to nip this in the bud RIGHT NOW.
I missed loads of classes and everything. I got really bad grades because of the way coffee affected me. You're tricking your body into thinking that you've got loads of energy when you haven't.

Drink more water. Everytime you want coffee go for water.
also, find a non-caffeinated hot drink that you really like.
Since coming off coffee, I hated milky / sweet drinks coz I used to drink it black but finally I can drink strong hot chocolates now.
Try to avoid coffee shops, and don't make anyone coffee...the smell makes you want to drink some yourself!

Try switching to tea instead of coffee... tea contains about 30 mg of caffeine, as opposed to over 100 mg for each cup of coffee. You'll feel better drinking the tea because of the additional health benefits it offers.

Don't forget that caffeine is present in a lot of other drinks, not just coffee! You need to try and ween yourself off the coffee and also make sure you're not drinking coke etc.

Try and drink fresh fruit juice instead, and plenty of water. 3 cups of coffee a day does not sound too bad to me, but it also depends on the strength of the coffee, and size of cup/mug matters, and whether it is fresh or dried etc.

though, i won't touch it unless it's Starbucks.
