I am 18 and soon to be a college student. I am technically "mob. Obese"
I have many issues due to this excess weight- high blood pressure, fatty liver, heart problems and i haven't had my menstrual cycle in about two years because of my weight. I want to lose a significant amount of weight, more than half my current weight, I never eat fast-food or take-out, I don't drink soda's, or eat candies. All I eat is fruits, vegetables [steamed!], and chicken breasts [steamed! or grilled]
I eat a really healthy diet and my doctor agree's. I lost a few pounds but now my weight hasn't gone up or down in about a year, I have Medicare/medicade. Where all visits, prescriptions are fully covered, will that cover a lap band surgery.? What are my options.? Health Question & Answer

Your weight loss is very critical to your future health, and I'm glad you are considering the lap band surgery. A family friend of ours recently had the lap band put in place, and he has lost a lot of weight with it already! He also exercises daily to help out as well though. My mom had a gastric bypass about 4 years ago. She went from about 280 and she is at a final weight of 125 now, and has maintained her weight loss for nearly 2 years after the surgery. She does have excess skin from not exercising or weight lifting though! I would definitely suggest the lap band surgery to you because my mom had terrible complications with the gastric bypass. Do you workout at all.? I'm sure its been said to you but gaining muscle is one of the best ways to burn calories.

Try getting more protein and adding 3 weekly sessions of 45 min of weight training followed by 15 minutes of cardio. If you focus on building muscle and allow your body to adapt to that you might be in for a surprise. Health Question & Answer
