After food binging for a year, can someone mess up their body?!

Question: After food binging for a year, can someone mess up their body.?
What I mean is, if someone binges for a whole year (i mean ALOT of food - to the point that it hurts) and then after that starts eating normally again, but stays the same weight. In other words, while you are binging, you're gaining alot, but then when you eat normally again, you just stay the same as when you were food binging....how is this possible (and exercising).?.? Could you mess up your body to the point it gets confused and doesn't let you lose the weight again.? I'm really confused, because i'm eating normally & exercising...helpHealth Question & Answer

it could, in theory, change your threshold for weight. we all have a set point in our brains for how we are supposed to be built physically, and binging repeatedly would trick your body into making that set point higher (this is happening en mass to all of America with obesity- our set points are changing, making it harder to stay thin) not saying, of course, that you are obese but just an example of how it happens. don't give up!! just as you changed it before with bad habits you can change it with good ones. keep up the hard work and within a year you will see a marked improvement i can almost guarantee it. your body just needs to adjust. :DHealth Question & Answer

Binging like that for a year is horrible for you (rent and watch "Supersize Me", for what eating nothing buy junk food for just 30 days can do to you). Hopefully you did not do any permanent damage, and you can recover and get healthy again through a balanced diet and exercise.

Generally your body does not get confused. It is programmed for certain things, and does them as long as you allow it to. To maintain the same weight but lose the fat - comine a balanced diet with regular weight lifting and cardio exercises. This will get rid of the nasty fat while building muscle at the same time - allowing you to stay the same weight while getting stronger and healthier.Health Question & Answer

Your body might get in the habit of throwing up food before you even do anything. And when you do start eating normally/healthy again it will gain it all as fat .. So you will get a lil' chubby.

All in all .. You do **** up your body by doing that.
Good job in starting to lose weight the proper way.Health Question & Answer
