Why is cold water in the morning bad?!


Question: Why is cold water in the morning bad.?
I've seen answers here saying it is bad, why.? And what happens because that's the only way I keep myself awake.

It depends on how the cold water is used...are you drinking it or are you bathing in it.?

I would say its bad if you are bathing in cold water since your body is generally suited to handle at least luke warm water. Colder temperatures could cause illness such as colds since your core temperature is altered by the chill factor of the water.

Drinking cold water isn't so bad. Actually, most dietitians would say drinking water (at any temperature) first thing in the morning is an excellent idea. Consider this...you have been sleeping for at least 8 hours where your body has been deprived of food and water. It is always a good idea to drink water and by drinking cold water, your body will work harder to warm the water once it is inside you...thus burning calories. Remember...you should also eat something. Your mom wasn't kidding when she told you breakfast was the most important meal of the day. If you eat within the first hour of being awake, you increase your metabolism and you will not feel as hungry come time for lunch. Health Question & Answer
