How much do you weigh.? (Nice job curling those 45's!)

If you want to lose some fat, you're at a great point to start. The more muscle you have, the more fat is burnt when you do cardio. Now, have heard that six packs are made in the kitchen.? 90% of weight loss is your diet, with the other 10% working out. Alright, lets see how this goes. You should be eating 6 small meals a day, trying to get as much protein as possible. Don't listen to idiots who say cut out all carbs form your diet. Carbs are your body's main source of energy. Instead, try to eat less simple processed carbs. Switch from white bread, white rice, white anything to whole grained wheat products. Whole grained carbs are more complex and full of fiber, so they keep you fuller for longer. For your meat, its okay to have some fatty meat (fish has really good, nutritious oils), but try to include leaner meat such as turkey in your diet. As for fruits and veggies, try to eat as many as possible aswell. They are full of vitamins and fiber, which will keep you full. And last, drink a lot of water throughout the day. Keep a water bottle at school, and keep refilling/drinking.

Now as for your cardio, you should be doing atleast 30 minutes per workout for optimum fat loss. Your body doesn't start burning fat cells until about 20 minutes into your workout. So heres what I do for my cardio (stationary bike, I hate running): 2 minutes warmup, 20 minutes low intensity biking, 6 minutes straight high intensity biking, 10 minutes low intensity, another 6 minutes of high intensity, and then a 5 minute cooldown.

Thats a 49 minute cardio workout. Now after you workout, try not to eat for atleast an hour, as you want your body to keep burning those fat cells, not new carbs from food. Try to not eat 2 hours prior to going to bed, as you burn calories when you sleep, and you want those calories to be from fat. also, its best to do your cardio in the morning, as you don't have many new calories from food, so your body has to dig into your fat for energy.

Stick to this plan, and you should be set. Good luck!Health Question & Answer
