I just moved into my own place with my buddy and neither of us can cook..so im wondering will we get fat if i eat a lot of cereal.? we skateboard everyday and play baseball too..Health Question & Answer

Sure, you can get fat if you eat cereal every day. But you won't get fat BECAUSE you eat cereal every day. If you eat a lot of good foods too, you shouldn't get fat.

Particularly if you're in sports (and you definitely are, if you're doing both skateboarding and baseball) it'll be harder for you to get fat. also, if you're playing sports that need a lot of activity, cereal is really good for you, because it has a lot of carbohydrates which are important if you exercise a lot.

If this helps, for several years I ate cereal daily for breakfast, and I was (and still am) one of the skinniest people I know. The cereal didn't really impact my weight at all, either negatively or positively.

To be on the safe side, you might want to go with the healthier cereals, like Cheerios or Special K. Or oatmeal, if you can stomach it. (I don't like oatmeal personally, but...) No, but to maintain good health, it depends on the type of cereal you eat. For example, don't eat General Mills Whole Grain cereal because they have a lot of sugar in them, even though they claim to have whole grain in them. Eat Cheerios, or Honey Nut Cheerios, or Kashi cereals. Getting fat doesn't depend on what you eat. The only thing that matters is the calories you take in and the calories that you burn. You can opt for "healthier" cereals which save you a few calories and have less fat and sugar. But life is short, so watch your calories, but go for the cereal you like. No you won't get fat! Many girls that are trying to lose weight eat Cheerios and skim milk after dinner (or FOR dinner - breakfast - lunch . . .) Just don't live on sugar cereals. If you are active you may still not get fat, but you'll get sick. Look for a ceral with high fiber and protein and is lower in sugar and carbs. Kashi go lean is a good ceral that has a a lot of good stuff in it for you. Speical K is also good, and is very tasty. Just be smart in what kind of ceral you buy. Health Question & Answer
