Lots of ways to loose weight but each comes with the condition that you have to make up your mind and pursue your goal without failing. Let me give you some possibilities:

1. Eat less. You're overweight because you consume more energy than your body and brain uses. Eating less will reverse this and it's the very fundamental key to weight loss.

2. Exercise more. Same as above but you're tweaking the other lever.

I would not recommend Atkins full-fat no carbohydrates diet because your brain needs a certain amoun of carbohydrates to function properly. However, you might want to cut down (or cut out completely) on carbohydrates in the evening. For example, try eating what you do now but stop at 5pm every day. Don't touch any candy, food or softdrinks after that; only water. You are likely to see a dramatic change within weeks. Try speed walking or jogging in the mornings as well. On an empty stomach it will do miracles.

Cut down on candy, chocolate, softdrinks (you might as well inject fat) and exercise more!! Prove to yourself that you have the will-power to change and I think you will be extremely grateful to this resolution later on in life.

It's quite terrible but being overweight will make your life and teenage years more difficult than they need to be. Just size up to the challenge (pun intended) and get rid of those extra pounds. Don't let a short-term depression change anything.

Good luck!!Health Question & Answer

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).Health Question & Answer

When I was younger, about your age, I was over weight too. I was wearing about size twelve in womens. Dont fret over it too much, My weight naturally came off when I was about 17 it was gone. However, I'm really into fitness now and I'm 120 pounds and a size two.
Here is what you need to do:
- eat often, high in protein things (cheese, nuts, meats, tuna, eggs)
- cut out extra calories from beverages (DRINK WATER) so important
- do cardio 3x's per week for 30 minutes
- substatute white breads/cereals for whole grain breads/cereals
- watch your sugar intake

These are just a few tips to incorprate into your everyday living that will naturally make you thinner & healthier!Health Question & Answer

Well, the best person to talk to about at diet at your age would be a doctor, but the best answer is simply portion control. Eat the same type of food, just not as large a helping.

also, just find ways of staying active. Take a walk after school, play something like Dance Dance Revolution for an hour....just try and keep active.

It really is a whole lifestyle change and it's not as if you can lose the weight and go back to the old routine when you've reached your goal. Take it from someone who knows.

But also, don't beat yourself up. You'll hate me saying this, but you're too young to give yourself a complex about your weight. Alot of times, just having more pride and confidence in yourself can do wonders.

I really hope it goes well for you.Health Question & Answer

Here's some weight loss tip's which you can do everyday:

- Exercise 6 to 7 days a week.

- And try to break your workout into two different sessions, this gives your metabolism a jolt.

- Drink 6 to 8 cups of water a day. And try to drink ice cold water, it burns more calories.

- Take enough vitamins, especially ones that promote weight loss (such as 1800 mg. of Fish Oil, Vitamin B Complex, Co-enzyme Q-10, ect. Do your research).

- Drink green tea or take green tea pills ( it's been shown to speed up your metabolism).

- For your metabolism's sake, eat within 1 hour of waking up and don't eat 3 hours before you go to bed.

- Try a vegan or vegetarian diet (it worked for me :D).

- Drink 12 oz. of warm lemon water (use the juice of 1/2 a lemon) with a little sea salt every morning. This will detoxify your body and make your skin look amazing.

- Or, if giving up meat just isn't your thing, just count calories. Try to have around 1200 a day.

- Try to avoid white, bleached, or enriched flour.

- Stay away from high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils.

- Eat every 2 to 4 hours to keep your metabolism going.

- Eat 5 to 6 small meals a day to keep your metabolism up.

- Try to get 6 to 8 hours of sleep. When your body is deprived of sleep your appiteite increases by 15%.

- Sugar and artificial sweeteners are the devil. If you have a sweet tooth, grab some fruit.

- Avoid all junk food, fast food, and fried food.

- Try only drinking water, tea, and black coffee. There are so many hidden calories in drinks.

- Eat whole grain foods and healthy fats (like olives, avacados, nuts, ect) and stay away from refined or "bad" carbs.Health Question & Answer

I'm a 14 year old girl, gone from a size 14 at 168 lbs to a size 12 at 147lbs. I've acheived this by cutting out sweets and cutting down on portion size. I exercise around 5 times a week doing 45 minutes cardio (usually on a the cross trainer, but you could do this in dance, fitness vids, yoga etc) and have stuck just to drinking water. Good luck :) Health Question & Answer
