Question: I HATE VEGGIES! How can I lose weight.?
I really need to lose weight and my family needs to start eating better too, but I REALLY REALLY REALLY hate veggies and lots of fruit too. Any advice.?Health Question & Answer

Actually, "eat them anyway" is probably the best advice in this situation, lol. Most of us hated veggies as kids and our parents tended to make us "eat them anyway." Over time, our palettes have refined and we have learned to like eating vegetables.

Well, so this isn't the case with you. That's fine, but your body still needs the nutrients that only veggies can provide. It's particularly important if you're the one cooking for your family.

I know there are a few books out there that are aimed at moms trying to get their kids to eat veggies, and have ideas on how to incorporate veggies into your meals without kickstarting the gag reflexes of the veggie haters. Maybe you could check them out from your local library and see if you could stomach any of the recipes.?

I haven't looked at them myself, but I think there are ideas on like pureeing veggies and adding them to sauces. They do add a lot of bulk to recipes that makes them helpful in losing weight.

i suggest protein shakes like the ABB Vanilla Bean (so good!) as a meal replacement.

Drink lots of water to help flush your system and take fiber (otherwise your going to clog up)--if you're not getting it by veggies, you need this.

exercise more, especially cardio.

avoid complex carbs like bagels, chips, starches, etc.

don't fry food, no freedom fries, no fast food... just grill fish chicken and turkey.

Well I would have said "eat it anyway", but apparently that doesn't help. It's proven that Celery actually burns calories, and drink lots of water. Walk a lot and go to the gym maybe 2 or 3 times a week. Avoid red meats, try eating fish, salad, lots of grains and an occasional snack isnt going to blow you up. Ugh... i hate veggies too :S
I eat alot of fruit though, try fruit salad without sugar and try to get your family to make meals including veggies like carrots but in a stew, or potatoes in chicken or potato cassorol.
