How long will it take for me to see results from strenght training?!

Question: How long will it take for me to see results from strenght training.?
I started strength training 3 days ago and i know it'll take a while to see real results.. but how long.? Im discouraged because i'm gaining weight now instead or loosing (the last 3 days). and my goal is to lose weight, but they say when you build muscle you will lose weight also, so how long will it take for that to start happening and for me to start seeing a difference in my body. Im a girl by the way so im not talking about bulking up. Health Question & Answer

Answers:
2-3 weeks, provided you do the following:

1.) Have a workout program that targets all major muscle groups (i.e. you're not just doing bicep curls and calling it a workout - LEGS are most often neglected).
2.) You progressively increase the resistance as you get stronger (doing 10 reps with 8 pounds and barely breaking a sweat.? Bump it up to 12 lbs).
3.) You are feeding yourself good food. If your body was a Ferrari (and there's no reason it shouldn't be, since you only get one), would you fill it up with kerosene.? Of course not. Put premium into your body - and that means a healthy diet.
4.) You go regularly (if you go 1x/week, you won't see results, I guarantee that. If you went to school once a week, you would probably fail. Catch my drift.?).

Depending on how large you are physically it may take a while for the "results" to manifest themselves on the scale/mirror, but if you are making progress in terms of strength, then that's something, right.?Health Question & Answer

building muscle doesn't make you lose weight, girls cant build a ton of muscle naturally anyway so you can't bulk even if you wanted to unless you take a bunch of supplements. you need to be taking in more calories than you burn to build muscle, which makes it impossible (in most people) to lose weight during bulking seasons

if you want to lose weight, eat 1500-1800 (it doesn't matte what you eat for weight, but vegs and fruits have much more food per calorie and they are better longterm, junk's okayish, but cheeseburgers/pizza etc are good, cakes/cookies/pastries aren't) and swim/run/box for an hour 6 days a week, also lolhard @ trying to analyze results from a 3 day process, months plz, anything under 10-15 lbs inst really significant in appearance anywayHealth Question & Answer

muscle weighs more than fat
but trust me on this
you may be "heavier" but you will be leaner and will looked more toned and the like
not to mention your body will retain things differently untill this becomes routine and its used to how you are working out and how you are eating
so dont be discouraged
wait a monthHealth Question & Answer

well losing fat is a 3-component process.

diet
cardio
lifting weights

if your diet is out of control (eating too much or eating too little), your lifting weights may not even provide you with results.

we see faster fat loss from the diet and cardio, than with weights alone.

i hope i've helped you a lil bit in understanding this...

good luck!!Health Question & Answer
