The actual weight isn't a big deal, but being HEALTHY is a big deal at any age. The habits you develop now will take you throughout your life and either work for you or cause you to be out of shape. You're right though...kids are obsessed with this topic and that's unfortunate. It would be so much better if they would just make a point of eating healthy, being active, and having fun!Health Question & Answer

It's best not to get preoccupied with weight. If you eat healthily for the majority of time then you should stay at your ideal weight for you. Girls especially get so worried about their weight and want to be skinny like models and actresses, who are often very underweight and it is unrealistic to expect to look like them. they are not good role models. Actually most boys and men prefer females with curves as opposed to bones.
Teenager also tend to be very self-critical and lack confidence causing them to worry excessively about their weight and looks.
Life has so much more to offer than getting bogged down with what you look like, enjoy your teens and life your life.Health Question & Answer

At 14, there's nothing to worry about unless you're grotesquely overweight (as in it's difficult to find clothes to fit you in the teen section) or your bones are sticking out. People grow out of their teen bodies, and your shape will change more gradually after that for the rest of your life. Then, you get to my age and things get uncomfortable once in a while till you get used to the downhill nature of aging.
Make sure you get some exercise now and then and force-feed yourself veggies once in a while. If you feel healthy, that's good. If you have diabetes, you probably need to lose weight.
Just common sense really. Your body will tell you if you need to change your habits. Meanwhile, just enjoy being your age.Health Question & Answer

It is because almost every teenager makes it a big deal.
But what's important is that you keep your BMI within healthy range so you can live a healthy life.

As long as you feel and think you look good, no one else's opinion matters. Everyone gets picked on for something in school, it's inevitable. Even the 'perfect' pretty girls get picked on, so it's not really worth taking some stupid kid's opinion to heart.

But as you get older and become an adult, people are more tolerant and mature so you won't have to worry then. Health Question & Answer

If youre skinny, GOOD
you can easily show off muscles(when you make)

Now, about the question, I'm 14 myself and I don't think it really matters BUT it does matter alot if you look good(not A shaped or pear shaped) or not. Basicaly, if youre a boy, you need to be strong(alot!)
if gal, then duuno.

Muscles are only needed to protect yourself and be socialised.
you've got only about 6-7 more years of studying and then.?
You're muscle's or fat's not gonna help you. It's your mind.Health Question & Answer

it depends on the person.
im 14 and im naturally slimish, but im also quite short-i like to make sure im toned and ok
whereas i know other people who wont eat a lot, panicking about their weight and others who dont care.
in science we had to do our bmi and loads of the class were underweight, mainly boys!!!! but i think thats cause their all tall not because they are on diets lolHealth Question & Answer

It really depends. Being underweight at your age can be very dangerous (very underweight). and being overweight isn't healthy either. Be healthy. Next time you go to the Dr. ask him if your weight is healthy. Always eat healthy or at least try to limit your junk food intake! Trust me, it'll catch up with you in the next couple of years! Exercise, even if you're just playing soccer or going to a jog.Health Question & Answer

yea it definatly is im 14 also and im crazy about my weight if i gain like 2-3 pound i will go crazy on myself lol but id never turn anorexic and yes alot of teens around 14 do care dont u se all those anorexic and bulimic teens.? i ahve a couple at my school. also expecially at that age everyone is like that they are starting to grow and feel like they have to have a nice figure and stuff. i thank god everyday about my body wether its average or a little over weight (im average tho) cuz there are many people out there obese and way bigger than me, so thank god for what u have and if ur not that amazed with ur body go to a gym do cardio, run and eat healthier, good luck hope this helpedHealth Question & Answer

first is toask if your in high school or middle school!
then from what you said i would say that you dont have much to worrie about. I've been over weight almost all my life and ppl love me. So weight doesnt really matter, dont get sucked into what your friends are doin.Health Question & Answer

My girlfriend has tried most things to lose weight but nothing has worked just as effectively as the wu yi tea that she drinks, it's been covered on CNN and Fox News. She shed 7 pounds in four weeks. She gets it off a contact at work but I discovered this site in Google; www.Wu-YiNow.com - they have a free trial on at the moment, maybe they're worth a try.?Health Question & Answer

YES of course it matters. when kids are overweight its extremely unhealthy and they'll usually end up staying overweight their entire life. kids are usually teased when overweight at your age and its really hard to make friends. kids your age need to eat healthy and exercise.Health Question & Answer

It is if you are too thin, and it is if you are too heavy. If you are sedentary, eat bad foods constantly, and are heavy, it definitely matters.Health Question & Answer

If your average then I would say your fine. Skinny is a bit easier then overweight because it is hard to lose it. I would say at 14 don't worry jut let people be people.Health Question & Answer

no
you should not worry about it at all

you can eat a lot as you are growing
be happy
