Question: Diet/fitness section: is this possible.? please read on!.?
Ok

So. I've been starving myself. I was caught. I have struggled with eating disorders since I was 11. I almost died when I was 14. Got a feeding tube. Spent a year in residential. I was doing great. But there has been a lot of stress in my life (uncle was killed, finances, drama)
And I have relapsed. Big time
I've lost 12-13 lbs in a week and a half

My social worker flipped. Told me if I keep going on like this then I would go to the hospital.
So my question is:
Since I've been caught (yesterday)
Even after meals...im still SO hungry!
Why.?
Someone said its bc my metabolism is quicker
Can weeks of starvation actually SPEED up my metabolism.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
No, it cannot speed up your metabolism at all, starving your body, it is eating up all the calories you are putting in it, it is craving substance, and you must give it the proper foods to stabilize it now.

You cannot starve yourself, then come back and think a few bites a meal will do it, this can also cause your body to shut down, your kidneys, your liver, ask your doctor.......

You have to eat, not stuff yourself, but several small meals a day till you get your body stablized again.....

You need to join a gym, and get them to put you on a good diet, not starvation, your body is craving food, the fat cells are depleting and you are making it worse by starving them, when you don't eat one or two days at all, only liquids, your body is screaming, feed me and feed it you must.

make a schedule, you must eat several small meals a day, till you get back on track, then cut back to your reg, breakfast, lunch and dinner meals....if after you are still hungry with the small meals, then you can eat some yogurt or a fruit....fruit is very good for you, and will help fill your stomach without adding fat to it.

Please don't starve your body, it can and will shut down on you.

good luck, god bless, and have a Thanksgiving Meal, regular one, just don't over eat, then a couple hrs later, have another small meal..

you will see if you eat several small meals to stop the hunger pains, you are make it fine,.

Bless everyone for this Holiday Season..

and most important, keep up your runs and walks and exercising, this will also help your body stay strong...don't over run or over exercise, it will make you really hungry at the end of your workout.. and don't let anyone say, if you want to loose weight and not exercise, keep it up.....that is bah hum bug.....if you want to jelly on a plate, then stop the exercisingHealth Question & Answer

Your body is craving what it needs- even if you've just eaten! Your body is telling you to eat and eat-- almost like a bear going into hibernation. Is it metabolism.? NO. Usually it will slow WAY down when you go without food-- because it needs to keep every little bit of reserves it can to stay alive! It is trying to conserve as much as it can, and not get rid of any little thing. Not a good thing!

*sigh* I've been bulimic before... It's been a while thankfully. But I'm still overweight! Health Question & Answer

all weeks of starvation will do for you is make your stomach shirnk and make you very unhealthy...
i think that instead of eating 3 big meals everyday you should eat somewhere around 6 small meals a day, with about 2 hours in between each one. THIS will speed up your metabolism and also make you not feel as hungry.
hope you get better =)Health Question & Answer

No, it can not. It's probably because you rbody went into major lockdown, and was storing food, so you didn;t feel so hungry, but now that you can function again, you realize how hungry you were. Sorry if that's not very clear. Good luck! -Lola pHealth Question & Answer

It's probably because now you're really underweight and your body needs body fat, hence, making you want more food. Please get better :)Health Question & Answer

I'm mostly guessing here but, I think that when you starve yourself, there's a period where you feel very hungry and once you get past that, your appetite kind of goes away or at the very least, you get used to the feeling so it doesn't bother you. That's been my experience, anyway. So once you start eating again it's like your body "remembers" how hungry it is so the signals are stronger again. I know that isn't a very scientific analysis, but I understand what you're saying due to my own personal experiences. I don't think that starving yourself speeds up your metabolism though. It's more like once your body enters that "starvation mode" and then you do eat again, your body's trying to tell you to keep on eating since it just underwent a period of starvation.Health Question & Answer
