I agree, diet and exercise do make a difference.

In terms of diet, watch caloric intake, and don't necessarily believe any gimmicks. Phen-phen, a once popular diet supplement, altered the rhythm of the heart and caused death by heart failure. Many, if not all, diet supplements are similarly dangerous, so don't trust the advertising.
Pay attention to when you snack, what you eat, how often, and how much. If you eat while watching TV and don't realize how much you're comsuming, cut out that snack time. Get a large glass of water and sip on it, instead. Your mouth will be occupied, but you won't gain any unnecessary calories. This said, don't do this for every meal or cut your calories so drastically you wind up hurting yourself. Twiggy people may be all over TV, but they are not attractive or healthy.

For exercise, there are different types of exercise. Aerobic exercise works the heart and builds endurance. Weight-training builds muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, so a person who is muscular will weigh more than a person of comperable size who isn't as muscular. also, muscle tissue uses a lot of energy, so it will "burn" the fat stored in the body. In regards to which exercises you should start with, ask a doctor. My friend's mom was morbidly obese and started a regimen directed by her doctor doing aquatic exercises. It burned the fat without putting strain on her joints. Consulting a doctor is very important because the doctor should monitor your heart health and let you know if you're straining it too much.

In terms of pounds, the number fluctuates. Once, while on a school break with a lot of free time, I weighed myself around 7 times every day on the same scale, which wasn't broken. My weight fluctuated up to 10 pounds in one day! Keep track of your BMI, instead. Your doctor should measure it for you, and it's a more accurate representation of health than weight (because of the difference in weight of fat and muscle).

There's one last thing I want to mention, though it may not be an issue yet since you're 16. Alcohol is counteractive to your goal. Alcohol aids in the breakdown of muscle tissue and many drinks, like beer, have a large amount of calories. I'll use Benjamin Andre, from Outcast, as my example. He noticed when he didn't drink, his workouts were more fruitful. He doesn't drink any alcohol at all anymore, and he's positively ripped.

Good luck in your venture. It won't happen overnight, but it sounds like you are setting yourself up for a lifelong healthy lifestyle. People who are aware of how to keep their bodies healthy (and not just "pretty") starting around your age tend to maintain it for their lives. Health Question & Answer

Well, it can be water-weight. If you drink alot of water, there is a chance that you will gain more than 3 pds and loose it once you urinate. You could have also eaten too much for the day.

This is what i would do if i were you. I would take 3 bags and i would fill each one with food and mark each one lunch, dinner, and breakfast. I would make sure that i don't eat anything more than what i have packed.

It helps, but watching what you eat is not the only method you need to use while losing weight. You also need to do vigorous exercising. Every week start a new excersice.

The reason you might want to start a new exercise every week is because your body might get used to the ame routine again and again. So, by doing something new, your body will get a Higher metabolism.

I hope i helped, good bless and good luck !
