Question: Can I lose my broad shoulders and chest so I'm not seen as a big guy anymore.?
I have a major issue with my looks. I posted a few pics below. I'm 6'3", about 235-240 (estimate), and am forced to shave my head since I lost my hair at a very young age (I spent a lot of money on transplants, but they only gave me some thinning hair in front). I'm trying to make a decision and I'm hoping people will give this a bit of thought and maybe not give me their first answer.

I want to lose 100 lbs. I know this sounds extreme, but I cannot stand being seen as a big guy. I posted a few times on here asking people what kind of guy I looked like and the answers pretty much confirmed my fears. I'm not interested in girls who think men should be big and manly and "protect" them....even worse, several girls who responded were taller/bigger and told me they'd love a guy like me because it would make them seem smaller by comparison.

On one hand, losing that much weight might make people stop seeing me as some big guy, and I could really care less if people would find me less attractive being skinny....the point isn't to find what other people like and emulate it (which is exactly what everyone encourages me to do), but rather to get as close as I can to what I want. I'll never be totally satisfied since I'm so tall and I'm bald, but all I can do is the best I can.

On the other hand, the other option (and I'm guessing, the one everyone will tell me to do) is simply to get in shape. I admit that it has its positives...obviously, it's healthier, it's more attractive in a mainstream way (though this isn't really a concern of mine), and obviously I cannot transform myself into a physically smaller being due to my basic structure. However, if I do get in shape and some girl finds it hot, I know I will feel terrible because not only will she be inadvertently confirming my negative feelings about myself (she thinks I look good big, whereas I think big and bald is unattractive), but that I worked so hard to get a body that everyone else wants me to strive for, not me. See, I'm not into all that manly protector stuff, and I know that getting in shape (not getting big, but still doing weight training along with cardio) will only encourage that image that I already hate so much.

I'm not interested in hearing how some people think big bald guys are attractive, nor about loving my inner beauty or anything like that. I just want to know if what I want to do (in a nutshell, be able to avoid being seen as a big guy) is possible. I know this is a lot of weight to lose, and I'm not saying it has to be 100 lbs....I chose that figure because I presume that by that point, my chest and shoulders (my main complaint) will be much smaller.

Summary is that yes it's possible, and it's going to feel like you are starving every day for the rest of your life if you keep it up, and might kill you. And I also want to hang people that judge people by their exterior.

I'm sorry; I've always been the little guy, so I'm trying to imagine why anyone would want to be smaller or skinnier. In fact, it seems like to me that women like bigger guys, even if they are overweight. If you're gay, which is cool, then I might understand. Or even if you're not, and you just want to be slender, I can kind of understand I guess.

As far as really trying to get slimmed down, I'd say you have to eat less but somehow keep your strength up enough to get some exercise. Good luck!Health Question & Answer

I would advice to lift weights. Not heavy power lifting just lift weights to where your muscles are straining. Not to small of weight and not to heavy. Of course keep up with workouts for cardio also to lose any unwanted fat. You will not get bigger by lifting weights if your not eating a crap load of calories, you will only get more ripped instead of bigger thus causing that more boflex body look (boflex sucks by the way) but you get my drift. If you think you are getting to ripped than its very easy to just stick to a little cardio every day.
I understand you don't want to be big but at-least you have something to attract woman or people to you. I was thinking about being big like this big guy at work the other day and i was wondering if he got sick of people asking if he played sports like football or something. And i thought to myself hey at-least he has something. Imagine you were bald and short, just think of that.
I don't see the problem because woman who like bigger guys also like to hug up on you a lot so i find it as a good thing unless you don't like being touched.

By the way i shave my head completely because of my reseeding hair line and the chicks really like it when i sheave my head and have a small goatee. I actually get more woman than when i had a full head of hair.

I don't know if it will be possible for you to lose 100lbs, that may be too much. also, you may not be able to lose the breadth of your shoulders and chest. You are a big guy and there isn't anything you can do about that so you might as well accept it. Trying to lose too much weight to get to a size you think you want could cause you to develop an eating disorder.

Not all women are looking for a big, protector type man. You just have to find the right one for you. A dating service might help with that because you can write what you are and aren't looking for in your profile.

You made a good choice in going bald, it looks good on you.

You probably don't want to hear this, but seeing a counselor to help you deal with your insecurities might be helpful. Learning to accept your body the way it is will make your life a whole lot less stressful.Health Question & Answer

I honestly don't see a problem with your height.. and I know you don't want to hear this but there's nothing wrong with your appearance. You may want to be skinnier, smaller.? But it's just not gonna happen. I can see that you're a little on the chubby side but if you want to get rid of it, get rid of it! That's honestly the only way about the situation. You won't be able to shrink =X When you work out, don't focus on lifting weights..don't do pushups, etc. Instead, RUN or speed walk. That way, you'll slim down but won't get any bigger/muscular. also, try doing some yoga.. I know it may sound weird but if you have the guts to, I say you go for it. It really slims down the body. i dont want to be mean, but i think you seriously have some sort of psychological problem. cuz, you shouldn't hate yourself.
being fat is not good, and i dont think if you are considered fat. i sort of get what you mean by loosing weight. i like to be slim too. im 6'1" and i weigh 180-185 lbs. before i used to weigh like 200-217 lbs mainly because of my workout regime i had. then later i decided to get tonned up instead of bulking up and i did.
i guess if u can drop tops 40 lbs, you will look fine. trust me 100 lbs is waaay too much. you will most likely look out of proportion and it would look disgusting. think about it for a 6'3' dude, 150 is soooo skinny.
being tall is always an advantage. i would be happy if were 6'3'.
in the end, i'd wanna tell u be happy with what you have and love wut u got so you can enjoy your life.
