It's scary ! I read it in a Health Magazine at the doctor's office the other day ! Obesity here in America, starts in the "early childhood" due to lack of sports activities (at this age) not to mention unhealthy eating habits ! I'm a parent myself, and my kids, thank goodness, eat healthy and practice sports almost every day (swimming the girl, basketball the boy). Of course, there are also "thyroids" problem that can trigger obesity or medicines, that a child has to take if or not the child has ADHD or ADD. This article below (click on the link) not only is from a doctor but also from a dad himself ! It is quite interesting !!Health Question & Answer

Yes, because the definition of what is considered "overweight" will gradually become more liberal as time goes on. There is a lot of money to be made off of people who are overweight, especially if the government if able to make money from passing legislation. Regardless, heart disease is our number 1 killer, and having a poor diet (which isn't always tied to weight) is a serious health issue. We should all eat healthy and aim for a weight suitable for our figure.Health Question & Answer

With computers and video games, you ask.? Kids don't have to walk to school anymore, or play outside. They just have to sit in front of a screen to entertain themselves.
Yes, it is a health issue. I read on Yahoo Answers, some months back; that people in other countries, can always tell American tourists from other tourists, because they are so overweight. This struck a chord with me and I have never forgotten it.
However I do believe there are some that are just made to be more on the healthy side. We can't all be thin like mooses!
I was thin until about a year ago! But hey, grannys are supposed to be a 'little' on the plump side. :DHealth Question & Answer

of course i think his figure is right! dont u see what americans eat.? all their traditional foods are J-U-N-K! which is B-A-D! atleast other contries traditional food isn't like that, there are rice, sushi, pasta, onigiri, ramen, kimpap, coscos, soo many other things. That's why he is right!Health Question & Answer

Working in EMS, I would think we have already hit that point. Nothing worse than the 300 lbs guy having shortness of breath sense last year who lives on the top floor of an apartment building with no elevator. Come to think of it, how did he get up there in the first place.?Health Question & Answer

"Do you think being overweight is a health issue.?"

This isn't opinion, it's fact that being overweight IS a health issue. This is evident in the term itself, "over"weight, implying over a healthy weight.Health Question & Answer
